Manual page for Gallery_-_Table_rendering(PL)
This page contains examples of table rendering
illustrating the available varieties and options.
These examples all use the
pltab program
to take a plain ascii table (perhaps produced by a program
or by hand) and create presentable results.
pltab is most apt for producing paper reports; thus
most of these examples look best in PostScript.
Example 1
simple.tab
A simple example. Nothing much, except that if you look at the
PostScript, the table is set in Helvetica.
Example 2
vols.tab
This example illustrates a table having two panels. Horizontal and vertical
rules are added by way of embedded #hr operators.
Example 3
checklist
In this multipage example, pltab operates in chartmode
and creates shaded section headers. When doing multipage tables, the
title and column headers are automatically replicated at the top of
each page.

Example 4
inel.tab
Another multipage example of a table having mostly text content.
Section headers (the city names) are set off by enlarging one
point size and rendering in Bold Italic.

Example 5
markov.tab
This example shows how a table may be combined with a graph (this
is not the same as a tabular graph.
